Not really. They can close The Strait of Hormuz, get pwned, problem solved. They present virtually zero threat to anything other than American hegemony, which is why they are constantly being made out as either ridiculously dangerous or dangerously ridiculous.

I don't get why the US has such a hardon for them.
Also, fair enough you'll whip them in a conventional war. I mean the afghans don't have even an army to speak of and you showed them. In and out. lol
