I am no wrestling fan but I know enough to understand it meets the IOC qualifying requirements, namely universal appeal and a very good spread of international competitors.

Maybe it is not television friendly enough

I imagine wrestling doesn't bring in enough revenue. Thats the only reason to drop it.

How can they drop wrestling when it was one of the ancient events ? And yet swimming still has eleventy million completely repetetive and dull events ? Olympics is turning to utter shit.
