With the departure of comrade and banning of both Saz and Philly, has the forum's average IQ gone up or down? Does the departure of any of the three counteract another's departure?

My poll.

in terms of intelligence

comrade = down
saz = slightly down
philly = up

overall it was a loss

Comrade isn't gone. He's just being emo for a while. It's a phase. He'll get over it.

Yeah, Com really was a smart guy. Probably a high IQ. Too bad he suppressed it so much.

I'd have to say the loss of these actors is a net loss... in traffic only.

Because he was always busy doing one-liners, I never really knew if Comrade was capable of forming an actual argument. One thing is for sure: he played an invaluable service as bullshit-caller and fact-checker, and many an argument was destroyed with just one sentence. Philly was a great poster, funny and when he wasn't trolling, pretty smart. Saz was a raging jackass, but also imbued with intelligence.

So, to respond to the OP, I think we have lost a considerable amount of intelligence.

I don't think we need to make threads asking if the intelligence has gone up or down from people leaving, plus it just leaves people open to attack (regardless if they are here now or not).
