For those of you in love, how long did it take from first meeting your other half before you knew you were in love?

We were engaged w/in 6months of meeting and married 9 months after getting engaged. Knew immediately she was the right one, just as I knew immediately with previous others that they weren't. I never mucked around in LT relationships that I knew weren't going anywhere. My previous "record" of going out with someone before my wife was like 3 months and that was in HS so it doesn't count.
I take my first impressions of people seriously, lol.

Love- no. Lust- oh god yes, I am still in heat from the memories of some women Ive had, I am tempted to go and find them on FB but Id rather just live the memories of my best lovemaking lest I find their looks have changed over the years and break my fantasy.

Coming from you, em I'll take that as a complement.
But seriously Ive had some ugly women but the sex was soo good that it overcame their terrible looks.

I knew immediately that I'd marry my wife. Fell in love after six months or so... but it was entirely expected.

Probably about ten seconds for both of us. I saw him and I thought, " So there you are".
He said one minute he was ambling through life, chasing as many fat blondes he could grab hold of, when he saw me. Like a falling off a cliff, he said...oh well, if wishes were horses.

Some of the posts suggest you can't fall in love with someone long-term, which I believe is false. My grandfather and grandmother were married for 45 years and definitely loved each other, but he had to pursue her for 2 years. She only thought of him as a friend and was seeking someone with more Catholic heritage.

Unless you can think, when the song is done,
No other is soft in the rhythm;
Unless you can feel, when left by One,
That all men else go with him;
Unless you can know, when unpraised by his breath,
That your beauty itself wants proving;
Unless you can swear "For life, for death!" -
Oh, fear to call it loving!
Unless you can muse in a crowd all day
On the absent face that fixed you;
Unless you can love, as the angels may,
With the breadth of heaven betwixt you;
Unless you can dream that his faith is fast,
Through behoving and unbehoving;
Unless you can die when the dream is past -
Oh, never call it loving!
