Anyone keeping up with hockey? Seems the Chicago Blackhawks won in game 7 after they were down in the series 1-3 games against the Red Wings. Wow.

I saw the game and was a hawks fan as a youth when I lived in the Chicagoland area in the early 70s when Esposito was doing his thing. I could not be happier. The rivalry, she is long and storied.

Yeah that last game was a beaut, everyone in Chicago was crying foul over that controversial call by the refs on a double penalty that the hawks could have won without going into OT. Now the hawks face the Kings and Im divided: I used to be a Kings fan when Gretzky and company were playing but they let me down too many times so I switched over to the hawks, now I'm fine with either of them advancing.
LOL @ no Canuck team making it this far. I guess Canadians aren't that good in hockey after all...

To be fair, there are a lot of Canadians still playing in the playoffs. But I like that Dylan's team the Capitols and Ex's team the Leafs are out.

I've been very loosely following the playoffs. Mostly when I'm visiting the inlaws or at a pub.
I was happy to see the Leafs put up a fight. Inexperience lost them the series - the younger guys just cracked under the pressure. As soon as Boston made it 4-2, I turned to my father-in-law and said they are gonna lose now. More experienced players would have held out, but the young guys are all about momentum. Take it away for a moment and the confidence is destroyed. But I think they have a really solid base for doing better in coming years.
I was surprised to see the Black Hawks win. Not just because they were down early, but because Detroit had a solid offensive lineup with tons of playoff experience and a bunch of guys with Stanley Cup rings. Lots of depth in Detroit.
As for Canadian teams not making it, meh. The majority of teams are American, so yeah, much greater odds to start. Plus all of our talent is currently on American teams. Crosby being a classic example. Oh well. Just another sport I only vaguely care about, although I was obsessed as a kid.

Hockey is awesome. Sens fan here. They got smoked in the 2nd round, but should have finished 30th overall. They did amazing for what they had and had to deal with.
Leafs suck and Cindy Crosby is a whiney little biatch.
Canadian hockey players have the numbers for sure.
Imagine if the US imposed an American content rule on hockey. It would make the NHL look like the CFL or comedian Football League. It used to be really good. But then they imposed their Canadian content rule and lost pretty much everything they had going for them. The league is a joke now. I like the 12 man game and think it is actually more exciting when the players can execute. 3 downs is dumb, however.

Blackhawks have a 2 game lead over the Kings, I think they are gonna win it all. Strange thing about the Red Wings series, the hawks beat them like 5 straight times in the regular season but the Wings nearly eliminated them in the playoffs but they were able to storm back and take them out.

LA looks very ordinary just now. Quick ain't quick enough.
Hawks look pretty solid.
