Had a nice run-in with the state po-leece

I decided to mow my grass today, and low and behold, I didn't have any gas left. So I hopped on my motorcycle and took off to a small town a couple of miles from my house that I'd actually never been to. I was told there was a gas station nearby, so off I went. I found the station, filled up, and hopped back on my bike. I'm following a white pickup that is doing well above the speed limit and he is slowly leaving me behind. Then he slows suddenly to turn left. It kinda pissed me off that he sped off in front of me like that, almost cutting me off at the gas station, just to slow me down to a crawl to turn into his driveway a mile down the road. Well, I accelerate away and notice some gorgeous houses out in that direction, and how their yards are all manicured. Of course, my mind is on mowing my own yard, so I'm not watching my speed, just looking around enjoying the ride. I look ahead and see a state trooper following a car coming the other way. Just to make sure I glance down and see my speedometer sitting on 70mph!! Oh crap! It's a 55mph zone, and I know my bike's speedometer is off several mph, but not that far. Well, I nail the brakes only to see him nail his and turn around in the road. I was so mad. This road is so desolate that he had to follow me for about a half mile to find a place to pull over and then we chose a very bad location (or I did) just to make sure he didn't think I was running.
Well, 65 in a 55 was the ticket. However, when I called to see about taking care of it the girl told me that if I paid right away without taking it to court, they would reduce it to a non moving violation, and I would be able to keep it off my driving record. So I raced off to the parish courthouse (minding speed limits along the way, of course) and paid the ticket and it was reduced to an "expired inspection sticker" ticket.
That'll work. It just cost me 171 bucks.
