i feel like soldier could easily be interpreted as "wards of the state" in a modern context.
although if this lawsuit goes nowhere it'll be pretty scary. such a concrete "don't even f**k think about it" amendment becoming a gray area is terrifying.

I can't remember ever reading about something like this before. I can only assume given the language in the officers reports that this lawsuit will be immensely successful.

Pigs. Just do what they want, when they want to who they want. In this case it was someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time, there own house.
This was not an insignificant reason for the Revolution.
No accountability, no responsibility and they acted like pigs while they were in the house.
False arrest, animal torture and numerous other charges should be laid. They should be fired, jailed and taught how to be a human being.
But dollars to donuts says nothing at all will happen to the pigs.

Take a breather, and go out to your local Independence Day festivities and enjoy the freedoms that bless this great nation surrounded by men in black costumes with tin shields and endow yourself with the satisfaction of this exceptional country that will station check points on your way home for every ones safety.

Quite simply prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law for every crime they committed. This is a blatant violation of the 3rd amendment. It exists exactly to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
If one of these thugs would have been shot during the commission of this crime it would have certainly have been a justifiable homicide.

The son shouuld have called a lawyer first, not his parents. If the cops are knocking on my door I am opening it and being polite. Once my lawyer arrives the cops realize they are on thin ice and will probably leave you alone. Just my way of difusing an over reaching LEO that is sweating me on my porch.
