Pretty excited for the next year

I finally get to take some really cool classes now that most of the junk is out of the way:

discrete data structures
info systems engineering
database systems engineering
ops research
inventory and manufacturing control

all seem pretty cool to me.

What were some of your favorite classes or training experiences?

I took a number of basic and advanced negotiating classes.

Learned about BATNA, interest-based negotiating, verbal and physical tells, etc.

It was by far my favourite class, because it combined so many disciplines.

International Trade and Game Theory were both pretty interesting. Corporate Finance and Financial Institutions were the most useful.

Best classes though were usually the ones with the least work

I don't mind the work, as long as I can do it and it's not a crushing amount. I'm not taking it until 2014, but discrete mathematics will be fun. I've actually found courses outside of calculus to be quite enjoyable, since they aren't just trying to fail you.

I'm currently in the middle of cutting checks for tuition and pre-paid visa card management. Learning much. I hope my kids remember these years when I'm babbling on and pissing myself down the road.

My favorite stuff was anthropology. Then Chem/Bio/engineering mechanics (statics, strengths, dynamics) in descending order.

Every Anth class was fantastic. Too bad its an almost entirely meaningless major. One of those things I would have studied more if I were rich.

I took an anthropology class, now mind you this was like a 1000 level class, while I was in Hawaii and we had to basically intern with some group.

So I found a group of buddhists and interned with them. By the 5th time of hanging out with old ladies and listening to them try to sell books to people and stuff about faith healing I just quit going and made up my essays or whatever.

But we read some cool books. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down was pretty good, and we did another one but I can't remember what it was.

I'm not majoring in computer science, but I am getting a minor in it (hence the discrete data structures). I don't know how much programming I'll be doing, but my concentration is on information systems and databases. I'm majoring in industrial & systems engineering.
