They are snorkeling. That would have been amazing to see. I think they knew what they were doing though, they stayed on the line and stuff.

But yea, don't let that deter you from diving. It's one of the best experiences possible. I do miss Hawaii in that aspect

FWIW, title isn't accurate about if I'd go diving, just a title to draw people to the thread. I have snorkled in the past and would again (I'd dive too).

Oh ok. Was gonna say don't let fear of that kind of stuff get in the way. I know people who refuse because they're afraid of sharks or some other nonsense and they are really missing out on an awesome world.

That was AWESOME!

Those kind of whales only eat tiny creatures, they were chasing the bait fish school that immediately surrounded the snorklers right before the whales surfaced. The sea birds were dive bombing them and everything.


I've seen some feeding behavior that was pretty intense, but not quite that up close and personal.
