Back in the days when they first built a computer, scientists never thought that there would be need for anyone other than government or huge business entities to use computers. But now computers have become almost a necessity for citizens of the developed world.
Will the same thing happen for current large scientific projects such as particle accelerators? If you had a particle accelerator, what would you use it for?

If I had a particle accelerator that was portable, I'd use it to kill my enemies. No way to trace a proton back to me!
