Germany, Ghana, Portugal OH MY!

yeah i saw that earlier. good chance we're not making it to the world cup.

did we already qualify? i haven't actually followed any of it.

Top team in each group goes on right??

Predictions:
Group A: Brazil, Croatia
Group B: Spain, Netherlands
Group C: Ivory Coast, ???
Group D: Italy, England
Group E: France, ???
Group F: Argentina, ???
Group G: Germany, Portugal
Group H: Belgium, ???

Should be a great World Cup, European dominated but Argentina is looking strong esp on offense. They are my favorite to win it this year.

Frankly, I'm f**k pissed. It's complete bullshit how the frogs rig this thing every 4 years to essentially f**k over CONCACAF and CAF. The way they chose the pots pretty much ensured that the US would end up in one of the most difficult groups in the draw, while AWFUL qualifiers like France end up in the easiest groups.

Anyway, Germany obviously tops the group. Never gone to a WC and NOT mad it to at least the quarterfinals. Plus, this year Germany looks pretty good.

The next 3 could go anyway. Ghana is one of the best in Africa, knocked out the USA twice, but still not a powerhouse on the level of the big guys. Fair to say though this is defiantly not a team you want to play in the heart of the amazon to kick off your World Cup.

Portugal honestly isn't that great but Christiano Ronaldo is a monster. If he is in the same form in the WC as he has been this year, I could easily see him just carrying portugal to the quarterfinals. Who is the US going to have guard him? He would make any player we can field look like a fool. USA's best chance is to play physical.

The good news for the USA is we play germany last. Maybe they will have qualified and be resting a few starters by the time they play us.

Overall though, should be a magical time. There isn't any shame in going out early with a group like this (all 4 teams in the group made it out of the group rounds last world cup). Plus, if the US can make it though, then thats an excellent demonstration that we can play with anyone in the world.

Yeah, the plus side is the US doesn't really lose. If they don't make it out, no one will fault them. If they do, it's a big feat for US soccer.

I would think the U.S would likely move on in any group except A, B, D & G. We are definitely in the toughest group.
