so i found out why pecans are so expensive. It’s damn Chinese people’s fault. Apparently, in the year 2006 they didn't import any pecans, and didn't grow any either. but since then they have developed a taste/craze for pecans, and it’s sweeping the nation like gluten-free is here. pecans you see, cure everything and are amazing for all aspects of your health, including stopping alzheimer's, and basically the only place that makes them is the american south. so it’s gone from 3/pound just 5 years ago to 10/pound now. and I'm sure it will just continue to go up.
i fully support american troops being dedicated to fixing this situation

they did this to scotch a few years back, but you're willing to draw the line at pecans?
actually the scotch thing hasn't been so bad as it's bad North American whiskey that much better to meet demand.
who's up for pistachio pie?

i'm not a scotch drinker. whiskey is superior, and gin is superior to that
pecan pie, however, is necessary
