Id say I opt for brown rice over white almost every time with the one exception being sushi. What's with all the brown rice hate out there? If prepared right it's just as soft as white rice and has way more flavor.

Nah, white rice is where it's at. Anything else is just a distraction and a gimmick.

Well that explains a lot. I similarly want a sandwich with bread that adds to the experience, not just accommodates whatever is in between it.

Brown, no doubt. Same with bread.

Brown is healthier. I used to dislike the taste of brown but now I find that the difference doesn't bother me so I default to brown because of the fact its healthier.

I don't understand the purpose of rice or bread that is bland. They are like water. It simply dilutes the taste of whatever you're eating. Far better to just have a spoonful of the actual meal, instead of 1/3 spoon of good-tasting stuff, and 2/3 a spoon of tasteless carbs.

Just not a fan of the taste of brown, so I nearly always opt for rice. But bread can definitely add to a sandwich, like a good cheesy bread or something. Here in Wales they eat lava (seaweed) bread. Brown rice would similarly add to the dish if you like the taste.
