i never got banned, but i posted on there long ago.
it's impossible to have an opinion that differs from the article posted, even if it's an incredibly conservative position. the people who post on that site do not have opinions aside from those given to them in the articles.
it's actually quite scary to think about.

Just had a read through some of the comments. Serious idiots seem to be commenting on articles, what's scary is the number of posters!
The amount of just outright racist drivel was astounding.

if it makes you feel any better, breitbart has so little traffic and it's actually losing traffic.

Never even heard of it before this thread, it looked like a stormfront news website.

it almost is. the "news" articles they post about race are usually "slavery is over, therefor racism is dead. GET OVER IT, COLOREDS!"
the place is a shithole and andrew breitbart dying made the world a slightly better place.

Never even heard of the guy.
But yea got that impression. Most of the comments were shit like 'left whites should look after their own, not blacks', 'there's no such thing as white privilege, we have black privelige' and 'blacks are all in poverty because they're lazy'.

well, to give you an idea of the average poster there, the site rode to "fame" on the back of the tea party wave. it's pretty much only angry and stupid white people over the age of 40

I once posted on the Sean Hannity forums, banned within a day. If a position is so strong and right more information should just strengthen it and not be a cause for alarm. There are various obvious ironies in how ideological dogmatism ends up opposing what they allegedly stand for.

There is a reason there are no equivalents to right wing radio personalities on the left.
There is something about that political/social orientation that thrives on being told what it wants to hear, and on silencing dissent. Its just a different flavor of preaching from a pulpit. All the same instincts that make one desire to be told what to do and think and to snuff out those who believe something different apply to both formats.
Goes without saying that I'm not exempting the left from the same behavior. I just think the general tendency and mentality is far more heavily weighted to the right.
Breitbart is basically masturbation for these sorts.
