So just got into an argument at work about what a "Traditional" or "classic" banana split involves.

Basically the major difference being the inclusion or exclusion of pineapples.

So one side: Banana split down the middle with 1 scoop of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry ice creams with chocolate sauce and whipped cream

Other side: Banana split down the middle with 1 scoop of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry ice creams with 3 different fruit/sauces (strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce, pineapples or pineapple sauce), and whipped cream

Nuts may or may not be included.

Which is correct?

The one that comes with rare ribeye steak, no ice cream and no bananas.

Pineapple sauce? What the f**k? It isn't a goddamned poundcake.

classic toppings are cherry, whipped cream, chopped walnuts, and pineapple.

Take it from the old fvck, and a Banana split gourmet. Pineapple is CLASSIC. I had that on my Banana splits when I was a kid.

It's not a banana split without pineapple.

pineapple ruins dessert. carrot cake would be my absolute favorite cake if it didn't have pineapple in it, ruining it.
