Its probably only a matter of time till the remote control is hacked and the drone is sent back to sender, locked in the pissed off mode.

Still gonna be hard to actually get a missile TO a target when these Phalanx defense guns on the ships. If a missile, like the BrahMos II, is going Mach 7, it'll have to fly in a pretty straight line. That makes it relatively easy to hit. If it will maneuver to evade these bullets, it'll have to slow down.
About the only way to get by these is to employ countermeasures (chaff, jamming, etc.) or to overwhelm them with sheer numbers.

phalanx isn't even a 100% guarantee with sub-sonic missiles and it's definitely not been tested for something traveling 2800 meters per second. with the operational range of the phalanx, that's less than 2 seconds to hope it destroys the target. assuming it hits the target and destroys it, you now have ignited fuel and shrapnel traveling at mach 7 that's going to slam in to your ship because those bullets are not going to slow that cruise missile down at those kinds of speed.
