the entire soundtrack is absolute gold. one of the few movie soundtracks that really stands on its own outside of the film it's in.

man you really liked that movie.

the US will eventually collapse and break apart and end.

similarly, the world will eventually end when the sun burns out or some fortuitous meteor happens across us or we finally decide to do it ourselves. the human species will indeed perish and the experiment of sentient life on this planet will cease. it's inevitable and not a big deal. one species on one tiny rock in one tiny galaxy. it's just not a problem. why worry about it? it's beautiful IMO. we got to taste a small part of a pretty cool thing, if only briefly.

by the time the sun burns itself out we'll be spread across the galaxy.

and we'll be like way old by then anyway

i need to give that movie another chance. it felt very contrived when i watched it the first time and i turned it off about halfway through.
