seems weird because, well, Stewart is Jewish, but like... those aren't funny jokes. and that's just the highlight reel. HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE THE HOST OF THE DAILY SHOW AND HE ISN'T FUNNY. it's the worst kind of not funny too, the trying to be witty but you're not because you're just not cut out for the job

i knew they were going to pick a black person to replace him for the soul reason they're black. unfortunately the only funny guy qualified for this got his own show already so we were left with the tumblr black girl or the straight don lemon both of which are so unfunny it makes me cringe to listen to them.

the daily show is stewart. there is no replacement for him.

They should have ended it IMO. No matter who they picked it would have just been a shadow of it's former self.

I think John Oliver is continuing the tradition in a much more forceful manner with his HBO show. It appears to be the true successor to The Daily Show.

None of those were clever at all. That's concerning.

Fortunately I never watched the Daily Show so I can't be disappointed.

john oliver is pretty meh to me. and he's gotten facts wrong or blown things out of proportion on way too many occasions for me to find him an entertaining satirist.

I've yet to warm up to John Oliver. But I'm glad he is highlighting some important issues.

I'm extremely pleased they didn't go with Tina Fey or Amy Poehler as those were guaranteed failures for my taste. I'd rather they take a chance with a relative unknown than give it to someone I know will never make anything better than a "meh" show.

The hacky shit jokes that are being thrown around by carelords pretending to be scandalized that race and domestic violence would be used as joke fodder are concerning in that they are totally unfunny but this isn't a highlight reel. These are just tweets that social justice warriors were able to find that could be construed as 'problematic' and 'feelings hurty.' There is no comedian on twitter that you can't find a handful of unfunny tweets from.

I can't believe these tweets are representative of what Noah can bring to the table unless comedy central wants to kill one of their most popular programs.
