Netflix has something pretty good on its hands with Narcos, even if it is a little cliche heavy. Pablor Escobar has been an interesting character so far, definitely built in the Gus Fring model. I've yet to see a Netflix original that's close to the quality of the best HBO shit, though.
House of Cards get really f**k stupid in a hurry, and Narcos (while a good show) seems built on a lot of spent premises.
Maybe it goes more to the audience. HBO just seems to get really quality dramatic television in a way other mediums don't. The Sopranos, Deadwood, and The Wire are just a level of their own.

Hah, when you're industry is dependent upon a unanimous participation in an exclusive early-release model along with creating a false monopoly (no food but our food) and then further, to gouge on the prices of that monopoly. Well, you deserve to go out of business.
There are plenty of theaters adapting with services, such as daycare, restaurant food, etc...
Anyone who isn't adapting should just die off. There are many positives in capitalism and cutting waste industry designed only to bilk the buyers is one of those things. Pay to watch it, then pay to own it? No thanks.
