The thing to be realized here is that nobody involved actually believes that the suns energy is going to be used up. They just don't want a solar panel farm. This is the most concerning thing, because you have alot of people agreeing that nonsense is better than whatever plan the municipality has cooked up.

nah they probably believed it. there was a proposal for a wind farm here and it was rejected but it was rejected for actual reasons. shit, the people at the townhall don't even need to give a reason. it's not like their vote was dependent on a reason.


you have to remember too that republican congressmen and senators have said almost exactly these things before.

there was a democratic us congressman (ga) who was legitimately worried that the amount of troops on guam would capsize the island. or the congresswoman from texas, who, after she confused north and south korea with north and south vietnam, asked if curiosity "[was] gonna go to where the astronauts planted the flag?". i think the common thread is "the south". and yes, republicans currently often win in the south, but dems still get 40% of the vote
