It's f**k embarassing they have a shootout in any game much less a game that means something. For shame. Shootouts have no relationship with the sport of hockey. May as well have a speed skating contest or hardest slap shot contest or some shit.
USA hockey is on the up and up in a big way though. A lot of the best young players are American. And the percentage of Canadian boys playing hockey is falling IIRC.
Haha I guess Canada will just be stuck with a better QOL, more stable governance and happier people after we take over in hockey! Lolololol f**k dorks

the incremental protection from head injuries is marginal, it's about protecting the eyes. got a f**k of stiches around my eyes but never a took a puck straight on thank god. orbital fractures are nothing to f**k with and when you hear the crunch.....ugh.
what a great sport.

Seriously though, the shootout has got to go. It is a disgrace to the sport and I can't think of any recent rule change that is more terrible. Hockey is, above all else, a team sport. You cannot determine a proper winner by doing 1v1.
The juniors game was really fantastic. It is always some of the best hockey, because all of the kids have such ambition and drive. Team USA showed alot of heart and they deserved this win, it is just too bad that it was sullied by the shootout.
