From 2012 up through last season, it's been apparent to everyone that the core players who made up that great 2007-2011 squad were never going to take us back to contention, but management dragged their feet moving on from them. It was like watching a loved one on life support withering away. With Ryan Howard walking off the field for the final time at the end of last season, the plug has been pulled.
While this season will not be a successful one, we are now officially in a new era. Lots of young players with no proven success, but plenty of potential. It's a rebirth for the team. Let's go Phillies!
