Anyone ever fried anything that was probably never intended to be fried? I know over here in the UK we have deep fried Mars Bars but some of these in this article a friend posted of facebook just seemed mad.

Didn't they have a fried stick of butter at that thing? That seemed really gross. I don't really enjoy fried food that much.

I first heard of fried butter when it was discussed as a popular dish served at the Iowa state fair during primary season of the 08 presidential election. Disgusting. One of the reasons I'm glad I don't live in the midwest.

Deep fried everything is more common in state fairs than anywhere else in the US. Im hoping they come up with deep fried mayo.

The deep fried beer sounds disgusting as hell.
I've had some fairly awesome fried mac and cheese though. Crunchy on the outside, molten, tongue-scolding cheesy goodness on the inside.

As I sit here eating the remainder of last night's kebab for breakfast, I read this thread and wondered; has anyone ever tried to make a deep fried donner kebab?
If so, it must be in Scotland. If not, I'm sure Boris will be down to his local chippy this evening to invent it.

At least in edinburgh (though i've heard that this is doable in most of glasgow, dundee and aberdeen) about 2/3rd of all chip shops will allow you to bring in anything you want and they'll deep fry it for you.
Crunchie bars are pretty good. My experiment with a Lion bar however met with dismal failure.
FYI don't live in scotland anymore.
