I'm buying a new bed for the first time in a very very long time. I've already got the mattress and frame coming but I was thinking about headboards - I tend to like storage space. Would getting a bookcase headboard at my age be a no go?
What about you guys? What kinds of bed set ups do you have?

Anything other than a waterbed is childish at your age

i have some slat wood backing for my headboard that has some lights attached to it, which are okay. they are like push button leds that take batteries. not impressed, i may just replace them. my guest bed has a very old wooden one and what i didn't like about that one is women's hair could get pinched in where the wood met other wood, which is why i went with the slats
i would just have a night stand for books, or a nearby bookcase. i had a headboard with storage when i was a child for my twin bed.
i have 6 ikea billy bookcases in my media room, which also has two televisions (so i can game and watch tv, plebs). with the doors (and you can add those later) they actually look pretty nice

Our bedroom set is basically a Craftsman / mission style situation. I had very little input on this. but I dig it. Simplistic quarter-sawn oak. Works out.
