Wow. Better than I'd thought. Its not exactly ancient history. My Great Aunt has dozens of these in different denominations.

They're quite common, but the 2 Reichmark coins are made of 62.5% silver so they have an intrinsic value related to the price of silver (simply weigh what you have, and then multiply the weight in grams by the spot price of silver in kilos, then multiply that by 0.625 to find out their intrinsic metal worth.
The coins are certainly worth more than their raw silver content, but the fluctuating price of silver can have a significant impact on their value.
They stopped striking coins in silver as soon as WWII started in 1939. A lot of charlatens also plate these in gold and sell them as 'Nazi gold coins', which is BS, as the Nazis didn't strike any coins in gold...

At .625, and $33/oz, it seems to be worth about $5 in silver, so I'm guessing the rest of the pricing from above just comes from markup for collectors. Thanks for the info.
