MLB 2013

The upcoming Major League Baseball season could look a lot different with many big name players in free agency during the offseason.
As for my Philadelphia Phillies, after a disappointing season with a hopeful second half, things are already getting shaken up with the coaching staff. Lots of people have been replaced, but not the Skipper. Charlie Manuel remains the manager, but the arrival of Ryan Sandberg in Philadelphia suggests they are preparing for life after Charlie, however, this next year isn't just for time-biding. If we don't make a post-season appearance in 2013, they may also be looking to replace GM Ruben Amaro Jr.
On the field, I think we definitely need some help in the line up, and there will be lots of possibilities there with the free agent market, but perhaps more important is a little support in the bullpen. I think we can salvage a good starting rotation from the talent we have.
What are your thoughts on the fortunes of your team and others in the 2013 Season?

I suspect the Rangers will be clearing out some of their roster, including a couple of big names: Josh Hamilton and Michael Young. I hope to see Jurickson Profar finally get to play some serious time. That kid looks like a badass, which shouldn't be surprising since he's baseball's #1 prospect.
Based on their recent history, I have a lot of confidence in the moves Jon Daniels and Nolan Ryan will eventually make. I look forward to another year of Yu Darvish, because his "rookie" season was pretty damn solid.
Still got high hopes for 2013.

Yeah there's a lot of chatter among Phillies fans about signing Hamilton. I dunno though. We've got more than only hole to plug up if we wish to salvage the talent that remains and make a playoff run before the current team is too old, and the cost of bringing in Hamilton may make it difficult to address other needs.

Off-season wise watching the Yankees and seeing what they will do is gonna be fun..
All this talk from Cashman, and Arod about him staying in NY, is IHO, just that, talk.. You don't bench a HEALTHY player making $29 mil a year in a playoff series for the hell of it.. Something else had to be going on then Arod was just in a slump so that's why he was benched.
Of course if the Yankees what to move him, if Arod agrees to go the Yanks will have to eat a large chuck of the $114 mil they still owe him.

Hamilton should stay with the Rangers.. If he goes to a larger market, a higher profile team like the Phillies or Yanks IMO he'll fall off the wagon, and fall off hard.. He can't handle the pressure of being in NY, or Philly, or LA or Boston, etc..

i hope we dont sign hamilton, we need to think about blowing it up and starting over
1st - howard sucks
2nd - utley is my favorite player but he cant stay healthy and with injuries in both knees, it may be time to move on to someone we can count on for at least 150 games
ss - rollins is over the hill and needs to be replaced after this year
3rd - wiggington? orr? ancient polanco? wtf?
c - ruiz, the only solid every day player we had this past season, glad to see they picked up his option
of - weak... mayberry is pretty good, but who else?
sp - still ok here, assuming lee bounces back, hamels could contend for the nl cy young, and hope that doc isnt too old
rp - papelbon cant win the big one and everyone else sucks
so im not that optimistic sadly, if it turns south early this year they need to blow it up

Rockies: none shall be spared....not even the Children.
All I want is for Coors Field to take a hint from their Grand Junction farm team and start serving Dirty Hippie.
