It doesn't cost you a penny to get money out of an atm with your debit card, or for example, to wire funds to a relative who is stranded in another state with no cash in the middle of the night on a holiday?

Now, I know that's not true. I also know banks have very limited hours in which to do business.

It's better to do all of that stuff for free anytime you want because your digital cash is secure in your wallet and only you can get to it or transmit it. You, no middlemen. That's what decentralized means.

why would i take money out of an ATM when i have a debit card and an internet connection? and no, it doesn't cost me money to withdraw money from my bank's ATMs

and wiring money? i guess if i was a complete chump i would do that. or i would just send them money via paypal.

Just checked. Withdrawals are free, wires are free. Also, my money is not subject to arbitrary seizure by a shadowy third party against whom I have no recourse, so that's a plus.
