I think the judge made the right call. Bitch all you want, the kid is 16. I saw some CNN shrew SHOUTING for him to be thrown in jail, even if it would result in his death. Some people get completely sick and stupid about issues like this. The kid needs help, you don't throw him to the wolves so the victims family can feel vengeance.

I also don't think the money really helped. Let's be honest, if you thought the court system was fair then you are retarded. Of course he has a better defense attorney because he is rich. Do you want to mandate shitty public defenders for everyone? Judge probably gave him a bump for being a blond white kid as well. Pointing out a poor black kid would have had the book thrown at him, and therefor so should this kid, it just stupid. No one should be getting jail time as a juvenile for something like this.

So he's 16, old enough to drive a car.. But not old enough to pay for the consequences of his actions while driving? Bump the driving age to 18 then..

I'm sure he was under his parent car insurance.. So when the civil trials begin they'll be sued like crazy, so maybe they won't get off free and easy after all..

The age of adulthood is dynamic and depends upon the society.

Lots of African 10 year olds are infinitely more mature than American 30 year olds.

It may be a good idea to review age privileges, based on this fact.
