Snowden was given asylum in 2014, which was extended recently. How does that refute my point? Again, do you think this was because of Russia's steadfast commitment to journalistic freedom? Or because he's cooperating with Russian intelligence in exchange, as concluded by a congressional committee that investigated the topic?

That's certainly part of it. I'm sure his cooperation with Russian intelligence helps too.
