There has never, in the entire electoral history of the US, not been widespread voter suppression by one or both parties, depending on the timeframe you're looking at.

Typically, the larger the claim, the more demanding one should be for evidence. The US being a failed state is a huge claim and requires more than simply pointing out something that has literally always happened since day one.

The larger take away should be that in the midst of a pandemic instead of increasing funding or attempting to make mail in voting "more secure" Trump and the GOP are actively working to sabotage any effort to vote by mail unless it's in Florida (for now). This is brazen and obvious. Just as the continued 100% federal funding to the national guard in Texas and Florida only.

he's going to tell his supporters to not vote because it's not valid, and use that as a reason to stay in office, even in a landslide loss

I just hope Trump leaves if he loses. I'd really hate it if Bill Maher was right about Donald not leaving office if he lost. Ugh.

Constitutional question:

Does Trump's term end on a particular date? Or does it end due to the swearing-in of a new president should that happen? is it constitutionally possible for there to be a state of nobody being president? You know, if Trump is no longer president after January 20th, and Biden doesn't have legitimately counted electoral results by that time? School me. Thank you.

i believe technically it follows the line of succession as trump is not voted until the next term but for four years. if there was no election whatsoever, it would be the president pro tempore of the 2/3rds of the senate that still had jobs that would be president, and that is typically the most senior member of the senate's majority. the republicans would have 30 seats, the democrats, 33, so I believe patrick leahy would be named president by the senate

Okay. That's my confusion. The 12th Amendment states that in the event of no candidate winning an electoral majority, the House decides via a single rep from each state (giving the gop the advantage). But if NO votes are officially tallied in the first place on Jan 3rd...or maybe Pence simply refuses to preside over the official Senate tally (because the election is fake news or whatever)...then the House has no function and it devolves instead to the Senate, superceding the 12th?

well the house serves 2 year terms. if the election was pushed without the congress doing it and accounting for this by law, they would be out of jobs, with no one to vote, so it would just default to Patrick Leahy

but in reality such situation would probably have military action, with trump trying to stay as commander in chief. i believe the brass would NOT support him, but there would be plenty of soldiers who do, and it's just insane to think about, so that's f**k fantastic
