i don't think what happens in the UK is any indication of anything. it's a has-been.

Charles I shot himself repeatedly and frankly forced his subjects to execute him resulting in a radically christian nationalist parliamentary republic, for a time. fitting, then, that Charles III will preside over an UK with a parliament that has done the same thing to itself (Charles II in between these bookends was a hedonist that fathered many bastards). the question is, will the resulting Wangland turn to autocracy or finally join the 18th century and choose democratic republicanism?

Actually you guys are overly worried. The USA is back, we haven't flexed like this since the Berlin Wall came down. Absolutely f**k Russia via proxy in Ukraine, the FED is bossing around literally the entire world economy, China facing massive economic slowdown may not be growing much faster than the US, revolutionary activities in Iran (good this time), US energy secure and bailing our Euros... we are back baby we are f**k back.

Even on the home front, Biden is bailing out 20k of student loans, rates are north of 5% and I have a 2.65% mortgage, unemployment low, DOLLAR STRONG...god damn old man Biden is really doing it! The older I get the more and more convinced I am that GOD truly does have a soft spot for the United States of America.

But the UK is an utter basket case and its stunning how much damage Truss and her clown of a chancellor have done in literally one f**k week. It's going to be like 92 again and the markets will break Britain, they will be talking with the IMF by Christmas. Incredible how that country has gone from policy mistake to mistake for the last 5 years. You have to think they will reach the bottom of the barrel soon.
