i don't think what happens in the UK is any indication of anything. it's a has-been.
Charles I shot himself repeatedly and frankly forced his subjects to execute him resulting in a radically christian nationalist parliamentary republic, for a time. fitting, then, that Charles III will preside over an UK with a parliament that has done the same thing to itself (Charles II in between these bookends was a hedonist that fathered many bastards). the question is, will the resulting Wangland turn to autocracy or finally join the 18th century and choose democratic republicanism?
