I don't really think it's bullshit. It's like saying "why bother teaching people history or literature, not gonna use it! it's just bullshit!"
But that isn't the point of a general education.
What we do need are schools for trades (at least more of them), and those being separated by general education schools for post-secondary education.
I definitely agree not everybody needs to go to university, but I disagree that a general education is invaluable or something to be undesired.
I'm never going to use general physics or general chemistry, but I've definitely learned from taking those classes a lot more about the world around me. I've learned from the women and writing course I took as well. I think learning additional subjects allows you to understand different perspectives better, and it opens up ideas and breaks down barriers and stereotypes.
But that's probably me being idealistic and not wanting to live in a world full of drones and worker bees.
