As for evidence of other highly developed social species exhibiting rational and ethical behavior I suggest that you review the work of Frans de Waal, Jane Goodall and others. Clearly these attributes developed through evolutionary natural selection, but the attributes inhere in the species who exhibit them, not independent of the species in nature.
