Oh, I never argued physical conflict results as frequently in interactions between police and black people as in interactions between police and other demographics. I said this might be explainable by black people being more likely to resist arrest or initiate confrontations with police officers. This is possible given the attitude toward police among the black population and, as you point out, the circumstances of how black people are (sadly) often treated in America, which produces (in your words) a large amount of "violent and uncivil" "lunatics".

I think both sides share the blame. Some cops think they become God when they pin on the badge, and some civilians think they have a right to behave as Neanderthals. I also think those numbers on both sides are very small. Most cops are ok, most people are ok. Ok is not media fodder though.
