Both issues are so important that fighting over which is more important is basically redundant. You can't possibly resolve one without also resolving the other. Both will require massive and sustained civic action to resolve, and minority communities deserve a disproportionately loud voice on the issue, given how disproportionate their treatment is.

here's my concern though. we've been down this road before:


remember this? (actually I was a little kid then so you weren't born so probably not).

afterwards people came out and held hands and recognized that racism is a problem and investigations done and sensitivity trained and diversity promoted so on and so forth and....SHIT GOT WORSE!!!

state violence is the mechanism through which racism is rearing its' ugly head....trim state violence you trim racism's affects.

attack qualified immunity. attack complicit DAs that let cops get away with this shit. set up special prosecutors through state bar associations. shit will get done.
