NYT outgoing editor claims NYT is liberal biased

The difference is that while the NYT definitely is slanted to the left, it is not the mouthpiece for the Democrat Party. Fox News is the GOP mouthpiece, for the most part.

Meh. While the slant at NYT is obvious it doesn't completely remove/leave out/or alter facts on the ground to present an alternate take on a given news item. Fox News is far less reliant in that department and deceptively muddles what does and doesn't constitute opionion versus an attempt to provide information in a fact based method with the aforementioned bias present. The New Yorker is pretty amazing as well, and as a rival it has Harpers to contend with, both top notch. They seem to focus more on an internal intellectual debate than on pandering to voters 24/7 through some media mouthpiece.

Yea, it's obvious that NYT is liberal and that fox is very far to the right. Only idiots on the right don't recognize this, because they think being far right is actually a centrist position.

And yea like Kane said, Liberal news I think flat out lies less. Like liberals will present one side of the argument, and omit certain things that arn't favorable, but I've never seen a news outlet that flat out makes things up quite like Fox. I feel like liberals present only the facts that support their argument, whereas fox just says whatever they can get away with that will support their argument. I think this is a large part of the reasons conservatives consistently know less about certain subjects that liberals. They get told the wrong shit everytime they turn on the tv.

And for the record, even as a fan of The Economist I do find myself at odds with portions of it at times. We need to rememeber that it's a consortium of journalists from different backgrounds contributing to the discussion. This is why Free Exchange is often at odds with Babbage/etc.

I really didn't like the piece arguing against breaking the banks up. That felt forced.

Appearances on FOX don't have shit to do with being conservative. Their "bias" is a daytime soap opera designed specifically to monopolize the traditionalist niche. 80 percent of this country's population is either middle of the road or liberal.

The only actual conservatives on FOX are economic analysts... and I'm only assuming that because economic analysts are required to say actual things and not just infer them, which, to say that stuff without believing it would require a significantly more zombie-like person than the dipshits they hire to insinuate things passive-aggressively.
