They hated the gangster stuff. Really despised it. Alot of these guys had very traditional values... Rondues worked for us for ~40 years, and as he was the oldest, what he said was basically the word of God for the younger guys. He caught his 30 year old son smoking cigarettes and gave him a whooping and made him call his mom in Trinidad to tell her. One time we got a shit worker and the guy called Rondues a ethnic group member, casually, and Rondues had to be pulled off him lmao. Guy was sent home within the week.
Anyways, yeah, my experience with black people seems to be very different than it might be with some people in some poor urban areas, whether America or Canada. These guys were always super friendly and polite, and they charmed the shit out of all my girlfriends I brought by. My wife still laughs because she says only the Trinidadians can cat call and somehow make it charming af.
