My main concern is with children who may see such messages and think it's acceptable humor.

The one in particular is degrading to women, misogynistic and quite a bit sociopathic.

I'd be the last one to want to limit freedom of speech so that's why I suggested open season. If suggestive violence towards women is some guy's cup of tea then maybe some suggestive violence directed at him will turn him on too.

Perhaps if we have a better society it won't produce so many sociopaths.

And if the guy was actually committing violence against women then that might justify retaliatory violence in certain circumstances necessary to stop abuse. Just wearing the shirt is not a good enough justification for violent interaction imho.

So you are saying the ability to express certain opinions is the issue that causes violence against women? Because if it isn't the issue at hand I hardly see how banning a tee-shirt slogan is anything other than a simplistic solution that won't work.

I would say possibly bad experiences as a child, or certain cultural ideas could engender violent attitudes against women but I do not see how the freedom to express personal opinions in a pluralistic society has any bearing on it at all.

What if it were declared by society that women shouldn't be able to express their opinions on that very same basis? Well, that's the same bad thinking of the past ages, before women were viewed as free individuals.

The answer is for women to be free individuals too. The idea that for women to be equal no one can be free is bad and wrong.
