Then, maybe the real problem lies in how people as individuals and as a society treat fellow human beings - particularly those who are our own children - as unwanted. Perhaps we should be exploring why THAT happens, and therein might exist the solution to abortion. Me thinks it has something to do with too much "it's all about me" mindset. You have to admit, beyond rape and incest, there are abortions that happen because a lack of compassion/responsibility.

Abortion is a practical way of dealing with an unwanted pregnancy, that is as old as humanity. It's not a problem that needs solving.

No, because neither have anything to do with laws put into effect for the sake of making right-wingers feel better. In fact, people who support the death penalty for the sake of vengeance are making the same weak argument. "It may not be a deterrent, it may be more expensive, but it makes me feel better to know killers are being executed" is quite often the gist of the pro-execution argument, and that's simply not good enough.
