I'll take President Saz over whatever the two parties will be spewing out in 2016. It's true that I don't like everything in his plan, such as the union stuff, but under the Democrats the unions aren't striving or anything. The whole system is pretty much dried up and quite possibly for good in the private sector. And what do the Democrats, great friends of the unions, do about it? Twiddle their thumbs and ask Public Sector Unions if they can swing a bigger check this quarter.
But the Saz Plan actually has a lot of ideas I do like. Single payer, massive infrastructure investment over the short term. A wealth tax on people with 8 figures+ and higher income tax brackets for people earning 7 figures+, and tying minimum wage to inflation. All great ideas. As is legalizing marijuana though I do hope we're going to tax it.
I also like that you acknowledge the necessity of campaign finance reform to make any of this feasible. Non is about to tell you how it'll just be more corrupt with public financing, but I think it can work. You just need to come up with a system where there's no political favoritism influencing who gets deemed a significant enough candidate to be funded. I really like what NYC's election system does, which is they match small donors (up to a couple hundred bucks) with public funding and impose a hard spending cap.
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The f**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse
