Well of course it's that--I'm saying that nationally the debate is always absolutist: you're either on one side or the other. You're with Al Sharpton or you're with Bill O'Reilly.
How'd that happen?
On kind of a related note, on a Blackhawks page no less, inevitably after a loss you get all the hockey-stupid trolls show up and start a "CRAWFORD SUCKS!" thread (Crawford is the goalie).
A bunch of us started telling this dude that's not the case at all and he finally lashed out:
-You guys won't hear the truth about your idol
-You worship the guy
-The Crawford Fan Club here just doesn't want to hear the truth
-Go home and kiss your Crawford posters
And I thought: FFS, doesn't this sound familiar? VERY familiar, but in a different context (and a bizarre one at that).
How does one embrace such a rigid, binary view of the world? Same with the race thing.
