Ex I googled a bit more, and apparently they had roadblocks in at least one direction away from the primary stop (Finicum allegedly fled the scene of the original stop and encountered a roadblock further along the highway).

Assuming this is the case, there was no risk to the public since this area is basically unpopulated and there was no chance of a car driving by during the incident since the cops had the road blocked off.

I've said they screwed up by allowing them to leave the building not in handcuffs. You said they handled it all spectacularly. I explained why they shouldn't have been allowed to come and go as they pleased. You conceded I was right.
