Japan sets out defence strategy amid China tensions

The Chinese government doesn't even recognize it's own atrocities against it's people. Mao's party is still the same party in power today.

Again I'm not defending the atrocities various Chinese governments have committed against their own people.

But that does nothing to mitigate the atrocities the Japanese committed.

No. I completely disagree, in fact by not admitting and apologising for their atrocities it means they have no legitimate right of criticising the current Chinese government for its human rights abuses. Furthermore, if China ever overthrows its current government the resentment towards Japan will more than likely still be there creating a huge diplomatic barrier.

On a moral note, it's a complete disgrace to those that survived the Japanese atrocities and the relatives of the deceased that deniers still exist in high ranking political positions.

Reminder: We have already gone to war with China since the invention of Atomic Weapons. 50,000 US Soldiers died. 300,000 Chinese died. Not to mention the country we shattered, half of which is still the worst place on earth today. I don't know why you think we can't have a serious war because of nuclear weapons. We already did it once.

And you know whats worse...nothing has changed. If north korea invaded the south tomorrow, we would step in and back south korea and china could very well come in and back the north. We would be right back to 1950, with generals calling for nukes while politicians tell them to chill the f**k out. In the end you fight for a year or two, tens of thousands die, and you move on. It's entirely plausible today just like it was in 1950.

we almost turned north korea and manchuria into a nuclear wasteland and didn't because of better judgement, and that was without fearing retaliation. we'd never commit to a full blown war with the ability of the other country to retaliate with ICBMs
