Um, if you want to pin putting the barricades up in the first place on the WH, no problem.
However, to claim that them doing so created a "distraction" from the real issue--the shutdown--is way off-base.
The only reason this is an "issue" is because the TP put it out front to distract from the fact that they completely caused all of this in the first place. Period. Of course, as we saw on FOX last week, in their fantasy world even THAT isn't the case, as they're referring to this as "Obama's shutdown." Huh?
So while it may seem that I'm defending Nobama and being the liberal partisan that Darkhorse won't stop calling me, what I'm doing is trying to keep everybody's eye on the ball here--who is the root of all of this.
Because for too long now there's been this false equivocation of somehow in these messes both sides are equally to blame, which means we never get to the bottom of who really is. I'm done with that. The TP is going to own this, they could end it today if they wanted, and the last thing I'm going to listen to from them is any hypocritical whining about that Obama does with a shutdown that they armed him with.
This would be like you setting your childhood home on fire and criticizing your parents for being able to save a lot of your sister's belongings, but not yours.
What's even more astounding is that 2/3 of the country isn't going along with this but you wouldn't know it, listening to the TP talking heads on TV, who apparently live in an echo chamber where reality is whatever FOX or Rushbo tell them. When Cruz was confronted with this fact this weekend, he responded that one poll was "80% Democrats," which was... completely false.
The other reason to ignore this "issue" is what I've already laid out--it shows you how much of an "issue" it really was when the rally this weekend went all of two seconds before all the real stuff behind this came out: birthers, Obama-as-Muslim, the Hitler references, calls for impeachment for the Kenyan socialist. With Ted and Sarah front and center.
How am I supposed to buy this story when they can't even stick to it?
