i really don't understand how anyone can think that. really. i don't think he should have been confirmed but it had nothing to do with completely unsubstantiated, irresponsible, and frankly reprehensible accusations against him. that whole thing has indeed irked me, the complete disregard of truth in favor of truthiness. it's like, cheating on women in their dreams really happened now and they are totally correct to be upset at you about it

Don't bother. Every single argument that Galt has attempted to make has been utterly shredded, multiple times, in this thread. There is no presumption of innocence in a job interview. Credibility ought to be the determining factor. Kavanaugh had no credibility whatsoever. Whether he can be held criminally liable is a totally separate issue, but by consistently pretending it is not, Galt can rationalize away the fact that he was opposed to hearing allegations that are likely true, even if a reasonable doubt can be established in a criminal trial that doesn't exist.

Over the past few months, Galts thinking has gotten extremely clouded and illogical. I think this is probably due to the fact that he is much more intelligent than his own political opinions. It is kind of similar to what SC justices have had to do in order to make your dogshit Constitution let the country actually function, or what the Catholic Church theologians have to do in order to allow the masses to outright ignore the plain meanings of the Bible.
