Best person for the job of SEC head is an industry person who is an asshole.

Obviously, you need someone who knows the industry. You can't know it without being part of it. So, you need an insider. Preferrably one who has been doing it for years and is good.

But, you need that guy who nobody likes, who has been ruthless, and who really has no friends. The one who got where he is, despite those facts. There are plenty out there.

The last person we had that even begins to fit that bill was... Elliot Spitzer. And look what happened to him.

Oh yeah, Spitzer was a royal SOB.. They hated him on WS. He would have been a great pick.

Amazing how many times smart, tough men get their asses handed to them and ruin their careers because they always think they can get away with breaking the laws, or having affairs, or screwing their underage neighbors daughter, or whatever.. They think they're invisible or indestructible.. or both.. Yet they end up getting caught and bye, bye career.
