okay sure

of course... everything we're talking about right now aside from bumpfire/crank trigger probably would have done f**k all

this guy apparently in addition to everything he brought with him had another 18 weapons at home along with "explosives" and more ammo. and he was not in trouble with the law before. so this will cause some people to go into hysterics and demand that all guns are banned or whatever but this extreme overreaction will cause absolutely nothing to change

As it's been said, it's already illegal to own an automatic rifle in this country past 1968. There might be that off beat chance he either owned guns before that time or he altered it like you guys mentioned before. Outside of banning ammunition none of our laws would of prevented this.

There was a press conference earlier where they said they entered one of his homes and he had another 18 guns, 1000s of rounds of ammunition, and explosives. This sounds like it was meant to be much worst or he had other plans. I'm under the assumption he killed himself after realizing what he had done.

Realistically, there is nothing that can be done. Hotels wont have strict scrutiny over guests baggage because that will hurt revenue.
