It has to be weighed against the benefits of additional trade derived from even regulatory regimes across trade partners though. I don't know how valuable that is, really, until we see analyses of the TPP once it's been finalized.
You can get a sense of how earth shattering new regulatory policies will be because of the review and comment period. If a minor change ends up costing trillions in liability then we have bigger problems re the competence of the regulatory process.
