Huntsman's right. I have my own issues with "libertarianism" as an ideology, but they are far better than the modern day GOP.

Traditional, moderate conservatism with a Libertarian streak would be fine by me.

In the first five minutes he states that we need to eliminate tax expenditures and raise the retirement age.

1/ Stop lying to voters. In a speech in Florida, Mitt Romney said - Unlike the President I have no plans to remove "In God We Trust" from our money. Now the president had no such plans to do this, it had never been a discussion point that he might do this. However on coins the words have been moved from the face to the bevel around the edge of the coin, and Republican howled it was proof of Obama's intention. The problem is it was a law passed by George Bush in 2007. So a voter has two conclusions to draw. Romeny was so ill informed about the situation he miss spoke. He knew the truth and flat out lied to the voters. Do we really find a candidate with either excuses attractive.

2/ Get a grip on reality - After the last election the first talking point was - The media killed us, followed by we were not conservative enough

He is absolutely correct about the GOP's current atmosphere of fear. We used to be the party of optimism and hope. "The shining city on the hill".

Today's UnConservatives are a pack of paranoid, piss drinking, psychos.

Unfortunately, Huntsman's comments are going to be drowned out by the 24/7 news cycle, the rage merchants on the tele, and the GOP establishment continuing to lie to its constituents about it being a small government, low taxes political party.
