For a GOP that is unpopular as you say, you'd think they would have had their asses handed to them back in November, yet the house remains strongly republican.

That being said, our current house of nincompoops doesn't have the balls to shut down the gov't like they should. Funny how liberals think spending cuts in a recession is bad. I guess you would also think that if you were in debt up to your eyeballs personally that cutting back your spending would be just as bad?

In case history hasn't taught you, you can't spend your way out of a recession.

losing a million votes and only winning because of gerrymandering is pretty telling of what people think of the GOP.

The GOP is running scared. The leaders of the GOP are willing to do anything and everything to pleased the 30% or so of the 'we don't want to compromise with that Muslim in the WH' hardliners in their party. They're scared to death of losing that 30%.

As far as austerity goes I saw someplace that a couple of the Southern Reps who's state was hit by Katrina voted against NY and NJ getting money for Sandy, but only a year ago they were begging Congress for MORE Katrina money..

So 7 years after Katrina they still want the government to bail them out, but to hell with the rest of the country.. Typical TP phonies..

yeah the hurricane sandy relief vote was disgusting to watch. of course it let all those meathead republican reps get their digs in about east coast liberals.
